This position is a part-time (approximately 20 hours per week), hybrid remote/on-site.
Essential Elements
The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to the overall HR department across all functions including recruitment, training and development, benefits administration, and payroll. HR Coordinator will work with HR team, company managers, and staff members to ensure timely completion of administrative assignments to support an efficient HR function.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize strong organization skills in the review, documentation, and status tracking of candidates scheduled for on-boarding.
- Assist with and ensure that all pre-employment and on-boarding documents are stored in personnel files and made available for payroll auditing.
- Support a seamless new hire on-boarding process for employees across the company.
- Support processing unemployment claims in a timely manner.
- Utilize strong organization skills in maintaining compliance with employment law and ensures all required reporting and notifications are completed in a timely manner.
- Request and distribute Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) as appropriate and in a timely manner.
- Support maintenance of up-to-date personnel records in electronic Human Resources filing systems.
- Support employee training record keeping and communication of training opportunities to management team.
- Assist with preparing and submitting invoices weekly to Accounts Payable for processing.
- Facilitate logistics for company employee events (i.e., room reservations, menu selections, invitations).
- May be tasked with administrative support duties for Information Technology and Security departments.
Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- Associate's degree in business administration, hospitality and tourism, human resources, or other applicable field of study;
- AND at least one year of experience in Human Resources.
- Must possess a valid NC driver's license for local travel amongst hotel locations and corporate offices.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English desired, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Computer skills adequate to serve as an end user of employee databases, applicant tracking system, and Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills used to effectively influence and convey information.
- Ability to communicate clearly to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
- Commitment to delivering a high-level of customer service, to both internal and external customers.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and on teams. Must be able to remain productive in remote work situations, should they be available.
- Will be flexible to work in locations at corporate office and hotel properties, as needed.
- Flexibility to respond to a range of work situations and environments.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to travel as needed between properties and have a driver's license.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry positions is a plus.
