We are looking to add a resourceful and well-rounded team member to join the accounting and finance functions within the corporate office of Biltmore Farms. This position is a full-time, benefits-eligible role. This position is closely involved with accounting and reporting for the Hospitality Division of the company, as well as Corporate office consolidations, investment in subsidiaries, joint ventures, and intercompany transactions.

This position requires initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to develop internal and external relationships. This role will include assisting with forecasting and budgeting processes; preparing reports and analyses for management and Board of Directors; and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax and compliance requirements. The position primarily works with our Hospitality division while reporting to the Controller.

As the Accounting Manager, you will:

  • Ensure all journal entries for the Hospitality division are made timely and accurately according to GAAP.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all entries to be reviewed by auditors.
  • Provide daily, weekly, monthly reports to Hotel Managers and Executive Staff to help enhance operating performance.
  • Assist Controller, Chief Financial Officer and Hospitality Managers with forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Ensure proper compliance and communication with requests from third parties, such as lenders and hotel franchisors.
  • Perform analysis in preparation of monthly account reconciliations and for special projects.
  • Evaluate internal control processes and make recommendations to improve those processes as appropriate.
  • Prepare applicable reports and analyses for Controller, CFO, Executive Staff, and Board of Directors as requested.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.
  • Advise hotel management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
  • Provide support and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures.
  • Monitor financial activities and details to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.

The Accounting Department of the Company serves two primary goals:  1) Protect assets by ensuring accounting policies and procedures are in place, monitored and enforced pursuant to proper and accurate GAAP standards, and 2) Provide valuable services to the management staff of the Company enabling them to make better and more informed business decisions.

Education & Experience:

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; AND
  • Five (5) years of hands-on accounting / managerial experience
  • CPA certification required
