Leadership Function: To lead, delegate and mentor in the absence of the Director of Sales, and also as an additional training resource. To provide specific leadership to the sales team members at the Hilton. To be an active self-starter regarding proactive sales activities focused mainly at the Hilton, but also within the complete framework of our Biltmore Farms Hotels.

 

Sales Function: Promote and manage the selling, negotiating and catering activities for the Group Sales and Transient Rooms areas in order to grow or influence business in all of our hotel group's revenue generating areas. Directly responsible for developing sales strategies in their applicable market, that will include local sales promotions and some travel. Ability to work independently on multiple sales related projects and tasks. Ability to gage interaction and advice from the Director of Sales, the Revenue Management area and with the General Managers of each hotel.

 

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Must possess superior communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and/or hotel guests.
  • Ability to operate independently and with a high degree of autonomy requiring excellent time management skills and self-motivation.
  • Hotel product and industry knowledge, such as brand expectations, involvement in professional organizations and competitive hotel knowledge.
  • Quantitative processing of data via office equipment, mathematical computations and analytical skills necessary to accurately determine and communicate proper financial negotiations and cost structure to clients.
  • Ability to gain proficiency in the use and operation of computer systems with the ability to navigate efficiently through Word, Excel, Outlook, Delphi (our in house sales system), the Hilton OnQ Solicitation System and the Marriott RFP system.
  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, proposals, general correspondence and similar written materials.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

Four-year college degree preferred, preferably but not required. Minimum of two years college experience or hospitality school course work is required.

 

EXPERIENCE

Team Leadership experience is of primary importance. Requires a minimum of 3 years as a manager in a hotel Sales Department, preferably in the area of Corporate Sales and/or Conference Services. Experience in additional multiple markets such as Association, SMERF, Wedding/Social and Tour & Travel is also a plus. (Biltmore Farms associates must have been in their current position at least 1 or more years to qualify.)

 

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

None required. Hospitality certifications are encouraged such as the CMP (Certified Meeting Planner). Training within Hilton brand system is a plus.
